MORNING OPEN REPORT
The Morning Report is compiled beginning at 8:05 AM EST when the
London Metal Exchange begins trading on the spot market.
The 3 month market trades 24 hours a day, therefore its data is
ongoing. By 8:30 AM EST the COMEX market is completely open
and these opening figures are represented in our report.
Another important feature is the Warehouse Stocks, reported by both
LME and COMEX each morning. In between LME and COMEX, we gather
data from the FOREX index, which includes currencies and precious
metals, and from the stock exchanges, such as the Dow Jones and
the NASDAQ. This Morning report is sent out at about 9:00 AM ET,
allowing for the 30 minute delay required by the data suppliers.
Most of our clients have the report in their offices by 9:05 AM
ET. If you happen to be in Central Time or further west, your report
will be there before you even get to work!

AFTERNOON
CLOSE REPORT
The Afternoon Report is compiled at 1:30 PM EST. London Metal
Exchange's Spot trading closed unofficially at about 11:40 AM
ET, but the 3 month metal trading continues throughout the day.
The Kerb prices reflect these "after-hours" trading. COMEX
finishes its closing at somewhere between 1:40 and 2:00pm, depending
on floor traders. You will see an update of the FOREX currencies,
and the stock market indexes too. The Afternoon Report will
show you how the day's trading finished out, so you will know what
to expect for the next day.
Reports
feature composite prices for Nonferrous Scrap at Primary and Secondary
Smelter Mills, Ferrous Scrap, and stainless steel prices. These
prices are collected from various sources across the United States
and Canada, and then reported as an average figure. These prices
can help you be sure that you are dealing with the same price curve
as your competitors.

LIVE MARKET QUOTES
The Scrap Post offers continuously updating Market Quotes. These market quotes
are fed to our website from the London Metals Exchange (LME), The New York
Commodities Exchange (COMEX), and a few smaller exchanges for currencies
and stock indices. Subscribers who choose regular Web Access service will
see data delayed by 30 minutes. Customers may choose instead to view market
data with no delay at a higher cost.
This Market Quote system is part of our website itself, so there is no software to install, no special setup is needed in order to view this data. You simply log into the site and click the the quotes page you wish to view. The data will refresh itself every few minutes if left unattended.
Each exchange charges a fee per person, which The Scrap Post pays on our subscribers' behalf. But this fee is variable - the exchanges reserve the right to change the price at will. For this reason, our live market data customers are charged a subscription price plus exchange fees, so that customers will be aware the actual monthly charge could vary by a few dollars in the future.
THE
TRADERS CORNER
The Traders Corner is an invaluable tool for every trader. Our clients
(and non-clients too) can list scrap materials and equipment that
they are buying or selling. Then you can get that list delivered
to your office by 9 AM ET on Tuesdays and Thursdays- just in time
for your day's trading. Have you got a load of UBC's to sell? Find
out who's buying at the best price. Are you a mill needing copper?
Find out who is selling what you need today.
The
printed Traders Corner is crafted during the 24 hours prior to its
publishing. We
never recycle these listings! You can
be sure that the entries you see in our Buy-Sell listings are the
real prices that companies are reporting and have asked us
to post for that week only.
The
easiest way to post your goods for Buy or Sell is to do it right
here on our web site! It will post automatically at any
hours of the day or night. The postings you make here on our web
site are downloaded into our faxed form as well, so even our fax
clients will see your listing. Then your posting will be viewed
by thousands of other dealers, mills, and processing plants.
